For this first birthday celebration, I designed and executed a fully immersive “First Trip Around the Sun” theme, blending storytelling, set design, and hands-on prop creation to transport guests into a whimsical space adventure. The event incorporated sun elements, an astronaut, a rocket ship, and the moon, creating a visually engaging and interactive atmosphere.

Design & Execution

I handmade the centerpieces, ensuring that every element reinforced the celestial theme. One of the standout pieces was the rocket ship centerpiece, which I repurposed from a bubblegum machine dispenser toy. By constructing a custom-built platform to give the illusion of liftoff and incorporating LED lighting, I transformed an everyday object into an eye-catching, experiential display. Every detail was carefully curated to enhance the theme and guest engagement, from the layout flow to the placement of interactive elements.

Creative Approach & Relevance

This project reflects my ability to conceptualize, design, and execute interactive environments that captivate audiences. Through a blend of design thinking, hands-on creativity, and problem-solving, I bring ideas to life in a way that resonates with audiences and leaves a lasting impact.

Challenges & Problem-Solving

A major challenge was handmaking props from scratch with limited materials, requiring resourcefulness and adaptability. Without pre-made décor, I had to creatively repurpose items, ensuring a polished, high-quality finish that aligned with the overall experience. From a bubble gum machine to a rocketship launching, a round styrofoam painted into a moon and earth, poster boards folded into stars, and sticks I had laying around used as sun rays.
