Cloudscape | Self-Photography & Creative Direction
Some ideas stay with you long after a project is finished. After designing an event that incorporated layers of Poly-Fil clouds, I found myself unable to let go of the dreamy, ethereal world I had created. I wanted to take that concept and reinterpret it—not for a client, but for myself.
Building the Atmosphere
Bringing the cloudscape into my own vision meant stripping it down to its essence and reshaping it in a way that felt personal. I repurposed the same Poly-Fil decor, carefully arranging them to create a cloud-fill, floating effect. Soft, diffused lighting enhanced the dreamlike aesthetic, transforming an ordinary space into something surreal.
Styling & Self-Expression
To complement the soft, weightless feel of the set, I kept my hair and makeup simple—natural, dewy skin and subtle details that felt effortless yet intentional. For wardrobe, I incorporated a delicate slip dress I thrifted and instantly fell in love with. Its fluid silhouette added to the ethereal mood, making it the perfect piece to tie everything together.
Reclaiming Creativity
This shoot became more than just a repurposed idea—it was an exercise in reclaiming my creativity. It reminded me that the work I create doesn’t have to exist solely for clients; it can evolve, shift, and become something deeply personal.
