This Butterfly & Lavender-themed Sweet 16 was one of my first event designs, marking an important milestone in my journey. It was also my first time creating centerpieces, introducing me to the balance of structure, aesthetics, and resourcefulness in event design.

Challenges & Learning Experience

Working with a limited budget was a challenge, but it pushed me to be more resourceful and hands-on with my approach. Instead of purchasing pre-made centerpieces, I built them from scratch, learning how to manipulate floral wire, balance composition, and create structure with minimal materials. This project became the foundation of my love for creating custom event elements, proving that a beautiful, well-curated event is always possible with creativity and problem-solving.

This experience deepened my passion for event design, showing me how to transform constraints into opportunities and bring a vision to life, no matter the scale.

Design & Execution

With a small budget, I had to be strategic in sourcing materials while still bringing the vision to life. I engineered the centerpieces using floral wire to create a dome structure, carefully arranging flowers around it to create a soft, ethereal effect. Inside, I placed purple lights, adding a subtle glow that made the butterfly details feel as if they were floating. Every detail was designed to bring a dreamy, enchanted atmosphere to the space.
