Designing intimate birthday celebration, I was given full creative freedom, allowing me to craft a space that felt both intentional and effortless. The goal was to create a design that felt minimal yet rich in natural textures, with an elegant, flowing aesthetic.
Challenges & Problem-Solving
One unexpected challenge was working around the venue’s existing décor—a large fish statue that couldn’t be removed. Since it clashed with the event’s clean and airy aesthetic, I had to find a way to seamlessly disguise it without disrupting the design flow. Careful positioning the draping and adjustments helped me hide it into the space while maintaining the event’s minimal and cohesive look.
Design & Execution
I handmade the welcome sign, keeping it simple yet impactful, using organic textures to reflect the soft and airy feel of the event. One of the biggest design elements was the draping—a first for me. Adjusting the fabric in real time to achieve the perfect look required careful problem-solving, but the result added a beautiful sense of movement to the space. Every detail was curated to ensure that the client felt completely immersed in the vision.
Curating the Atmosphere
Since this was an intimate gathering, I wanted to enhance the mood through strategic ambient lighting, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt just as special as the decor itself.
This event reinforced my ability to think on my feet, adapt in real time, and transform any space into a cohesive experience, proving that thoughtful design can overcome any challenge.
